81 km by 8 people from 1 family! Yes, the Lang Gang is on the Run (the Tel Aviv Marathon, in fact). And all the aching joints are for a great cause: to raise money for Akim-Jerusalem.

About the Campaign

We're a normal kind of family. Some of us like sports, others aren't that interested. A couple of us have !even run occasionally. But this time - WE ARE ALL DOING IT

We've set ourselves quite a challenge. As a family, we'll run 81km. Every Lang is pushing him/herself to the limit: Dov and Shimon will run 21 km each, Yvan and Gavriel and Yonatan will run 10 km each, Ruthie and Anna will run (by a miracle) 4.2 km each, and Matti will run (or probably skip) 840 m. Add it up: 81 km in all

Why? Because we've got a goal! We're running to raise money for a wonderful organization called Akim-Jerusalem that operates residential, enrichment and social programs for people with intellectual disabilities, and support and respite programs for their families.

We're really fired up. We're training like mad. We're encouraging each other to beat our personal best. We've bought new running shoes. This is serious business!

Support our effort. If you can't run with us, then send in a donation. Akim-Jerusalem will make  excellent use of your gift to expand its Home Care Support Program, which matches up clients with specially-trained mentors. During the time spent with the mentor, the client gains personal and social skills and new experiences which relieves boredom and loneliness, while the parents are "off duty" for a few hours.

Any amount is welcome and will make a difference. Thanks in advance for your support

Latest Update
We all finished our races, and in respectable times. Even the awful heatwave didn't make much difference to our performances. It was only later, on the drive home to Modiin, that we heard about the heatstroke victims.
