No Holocaust survivor should have to live in poverty in Israel. And yet so many do, forgotten by the authorities that are supposed to be helping them. The question for us now is – what are we going to do about it?
IsraelGives, Israel’s main website for giving, is offering you a chance to provide immediate assistance to Holocaust survivors in need. Through our Adopt a Holocaust Survivor campaign, we’ve collected a list of survivors who need immediate help, like Anna, 82, who lives alone in a small apartment in Tel Aviv and struggles to make ends meet with what she receives from her government pension.
Through this campaign, your donations will go immediately to helping survivors like Anna. With your support, we’ll provide a ₪500 ($180) food card every month to an individual survivor, and our amazing volunteers will come to her house every month to help her make the trip to the supermarket. We'll also use the campaign funds to help fix up the apartments that survivors live in, and provide them with legal aid so that they can start receiving from the German and Israeli governments the payments that they're entitled to.
