We are reservists, officers, and soldiers from the IDF. Our role is what the news reports as “the terrorists were identified by an IDF team and eliminated in a precise strike.”

Our unit was deployed to Gaza for six months, where we contributed to the IDF’s missions of eliminating Hamas terrorists, destroying terrorist infrastructure, and rescuing hostages. As part of the fighting, some of our mission-critical and life-saving equipment was damaged. Now we’re deployed again and in need of new and improved equipment.

On top of this, we have formed a special task force of experts, drone enthusiasts, and specialists with exceptional tech-ops abilities who volunteered for this initiative from various units. Together, we manage to achieve things that would normally take the IDF many years.

Donations? Where is the IDF’s budget?

The IDF is a very large organization, and as such, it moves at a certain pace. There are command decisions, committees, tenders, and audits (which is generally a good thing, since we are talking about taxpayer money here). All of this takes a lot of time. Of course, when the IDF does make the decision to go for something, it will buy what is required for those who need it, within the budget.

But this is sometimes too slow for rapid development projects during combat operations. When you want to move fast, when you want to dare to try things that might revolutionize the entire field, you need to work at a different pace.

What is the money for?
