While the IDF defends Israel's outer borders and Police answer emergency calls inside Israel's borders, it is Israel's Mishmar security volunteers that patrol neighborhood borders from criminals and terrorists.
Ramot, located in Jerusalem's northern border, is Israel's largest neighborhood with an estimated 70,000+ residents. Due to Ramot's large size, it has no security gate, and has numerous entrances where bad actors can drive in. Worse, Ramot's western side is exposed by a dark forest shared by Arab villages with trails leading directly to terror and extremism-supporting factions. It's eastern side is neighbors with arab villages too, with a small hill separating them. Worse, Ramot is within a few minute drive from Ramallah, Shuafat, and other known terror and incitement beds.
In the past, Ramot and its surrounding area have experienced ramming attacks, shooting attacks, bombs, and Molotov cocktails. Aside from all this, Ramot residents experience weekly break-ins, car theft, and crime from infiltrators, who let themselves into people's homes and help themselves to their life savings.
Mishmar Ramot comprises volunteers who give their time free to operate daily patrols and swiftly respond to suspicion and danger. In just the last few weeks Mishmar Ramot volunteers have caught Arabs hiding in the forest bushes gathering intelligence on the neighborhood, as well as several more illegal infiltrators with no visa or legal purpose to loiter around the area.
By raising $50,000 Mishmar Ramot will train thirty of its volunteers to a highly professional & unprecedented level using a tailored professional curriculum designed specially for our neighborhood's needs by Israeli security experts, to continue carrying out security and deterrence operations in the area with excellence and devotion.
Funds will also be used to purchase rescue & security equipment, and to provide overhead for Mishmar Ramot's headquarters, where experts sit and coordinate security activities.
Mishmar Ramot's coordinators are trained professionals with security experience, academic training in disaster management, and certified in emergency response. Mishmar Ramot has no political or ideological goal; Mishmar Ramot's mission is to keep the people of Ramot safe from crime and terror!

Breakdown of costs:
$20,000: Two training courses in creating urban security, for volunteers. Each training cohort contains 15 volunteers. The course will be 48 hours long, in 12 sessions of four hours each. We would like to start this course in November.
$15,000: Rent for a location to operate and coordinate all emergency activities. In this base we can operate our 100 volunteers, as well as meet and plan with MDA, Pikud Haoref, Police officials, and others involved in emergency planning.
$15,000: Needed equipment. Bulletproof vests and helmets for our volunteers who patrol at night. Shirts with the logo of our organization for safe identification for the police and others who see them out late at night patrolling. Light projectors on poles that can be charged and are portable. A drone for security overwatch. We need several smaller items for the S"AAR rescue unit we put together under the guidance of the Pikud Haoref. This includes a "Jack-Agala" lift, "Jack bakbuk" lift, a ratchet lift, an additional 5 ton lever lift, and safety helmets for the rescuers. Other security and emergency items are needed too and this is not a complete list.
Funds collected will go straight to vendors that provide services to Mishmar Ramot.
We would also like to raise funds for a 4X4 patrol vehicle in the future.
