In these darkest of days, when tens of thousands of families were forced to leave their homes, and hundreds of thousands of our best daughters and sons are serving in the Israeli army, the whole country has become one front and the civil society shares the burden.
Dozens of restaurants, big and small, are preparing tens of thousands of dishes every day and deliver them to soldiers, to the families of those injured and hospitalized, and to civilians who fled their homes on the border of the Gaza strip. The requests for food are handled, cooked and distributed through a large network of volunteering civilians.
To keep this whole operation going on during the war, considerable funds are necessary. These donations are not used to pay the restaurants (who are totally volunteering), but rather to by raw food materials.
