Kids Helping Kids.
Over the past 4 years, The Steven Esses Kids Shoko Run has become one of the most popular and exciting events of the summer here in Gush Etzyon. It all started when Azi Ginsberg, then 9 years old, thought of a way to help families in need of psychological services for family members of those afflicted with cancer or other serious illnesses and creating a way and a reality where kids help kids and families help families. The Shokorun has raised over 100,000NIS and has helped countless families through some of the toughest times. The feedback from the families receiving the help is what it is all about... “When you are diagnosed with a serious illness, or when tragedy strikes, it seems almost a luxury to be worried about mental health. The costs are high and access to help is a huge burden. Thankfully, the Shoko Fund removed both of those barriers so our family could continue to function. A couple of years after my illness, and the Shoko Fund ensures that our mental health will heal as well as my physical health.”
