Donation to Kibbutz Nir Am:
In these tumultuous times, numerous kibbutzim, including Nir-Am, have faced profound losses due to the monstrous horrific attacks orchestrated by Hamas. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to our fellow friends and neighbours in the kibbutzim and Sderot who have endured these brutal assaults.
Situated on the border between Beit Hanon and Sderot, Nir-Am found itself on the ominous Hamas assassination list. Fortunately, the steadfast standby squad thwarted the terrorists just meters from the fence, neutralizing the threat and holding their ground until Israeli security forces arrived to eliminate the danger.
Since its establishment, Nir-Am has witnessed a sequence of brutal security attacks, beginning as early as the War of Independence, with the evacuation of kibbutz children for many months, martyrdoms, and fedayeen attacks in the 1950s and 1960s.
Since the beginning of this century, Nir-Am is the kibbutz that has suffered the largest number of Qassam shootings. There were tens, and there were hundreds of Qassams, and by now, we've lost count. The destruction of dozens of public and private buildings over the years has caused many departures and demographic depletion. But Nir-Am continued to fight, grow, and win, returning to being a growing and vibrant community.
Despite the adversity, Nir-Am has not only endured but has also demonstrated incredible resilience. The kibbutz continues to grow, overcome challenges, and return to its vibrant and flourishing state. On October 7th, the standby squad of our kibbutz valiantly defended us, ensuring the safety of our families and children. Our resolve to continue growing and thriving in this community remains unyielding. We simply ask for the opportunity to do so!
What do we need? The answer lies in strengthening our self-defense capabilities—enhancing security measures, providing essential equipment for our dedicated standby squad, ensuring protection, and securing emergency power supplies. The impact of the attacks extends beyond security concerns, affecting the very core of our livelihoods. The barn housing 800 cows stands abandoned, agricultural areas are in ruins, and the once bustling Aldea Hotel, boasting 100 beds, faces complete neutralization. Rehabilitating each field separately is a monumental task, one that will take years and incur substantial financial losses.
Our desire is simple: to continue, if only circumstances permit. Your support is the key to rebuilding, ensuring the survival of our community, and preserving the spirit of Nir-Am.
