FakeReporter is an online social-initiative watchdog established by researchers, activists, and OSINT experts. Using a combination of intelligence experts and an online crowdsourced platform, FakeReporter and its community lead a civil effort against malicious online activities, such as disinformation, hate speech, violence, and online incitement.


Over the past year, FakeReporter has uncovered and removed Iranian foreign influence campaigns, political and commercial networks of bots and fake profiles, and violent mob communication channels. Our findings have been featured in the NYTimes, NBC, BBC, Buzzfeed, Vice, and more.

We’ve built a platform that can empower anyone to be an online activist by flagging and reporting suspicious content or social media profiles and channels.

 Our professional researchers scan the flagged content to detect malicious networks.
Once detected, we blow their cover and shut them down.
