Dear Friends and Family, Once again, after a tough year personally for me, in October, for my 13th time, I will be riding off road in the challenging Wheels of Love bike ride to raise money to benefit the children at ALYN Hospital. For the past 9 years, I have been either riding tandem or accompanying on-a single bike, Adina Elbaz, former patient of Alyn, for a portion of the 5 day ride. Now that Adina is 27 years old, she has truly come full circle and this year, our 10th year together, she will be accompanying me for a day as a volunteer, riding along other Alyn kids. The Alyn Hospital treated Adina for 2+ years after her TBI at age 16, from being hit by a mini bus. This year I will be riding with 16 year old Miki Katz, who in 2018, at age 10, was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, a cancer that grows out of the bone. After a year of treatments of chemo, radiation and surgery, Miki started rehab at Alyn. It was there in 2019, where she and her family witnessed The WOL riders riding into the hospital on the final day of the ride to recieve their medals from the kids who were patients in the hospital. Now here we are 4 years later and Miki, one of my true heroes, is riding her own bike, and I will be there right at her side, cheering her along and providing her with all the support she needs.
YOUR support will help ALYN provide high-level rehabilitative treatment and state-of-the-art services for more children with a wide range of physical disabilities to get help just like both Adina and Miki. ALYN Hospital is the only facility of its kind in Israel and is one of the world’s leading specialists in the active and intensive rehabilitation of children, regardless of religion or ethnic background.
I thank you once again for your generosity and support. It really means the world to me, and even more so to these amazing kids and their rockstar families. Your contributions, whether big or small, will make a real difference in the lives of children and families who rely on ALYN Hospital.
All the best-
- Rocky
