Dear friends and family, During my second year of National Service for the State of Israel, I am working for Rachshei Lev, an organization that supports children with cancer in Tel Hashomer, a major national medical center. Every day, National Service volunteers accompany these children through painful treatments and help them pass their time during hospitalizations by making sure they have fun despite the incredible hardship they’re experiencing. I have connected with and love these children as they fight battle for their lives. This year my family and I are raising funds through Rachshei Lev to access life supporting and saving medications not covered by national insurance for many of these children who cannot afford it. Rachshei Lev, the Tel Aviv marathon and my family have teamed up to make this happen. With your support, together, we can bring more hope and caring to these infants, children and young adults . Please help me go that extra mile, now both literally and figuratively, and go beyond that supportive word, hug, and even bedtime snack by raising 5,000 shekels to support this worthy cause.
This year, doctors and nurses, Rachashei Lev's staff and volunteers, cancer patients and recoverees will run together and raise funds for life-saving treatments that are not included in the health basket for children with cancer!

Rachashei Lev – the national support center for children with cancer – was established in 1989, and is Israel’s leading organization that promotes and supports children with cancer and their families. The nonprofit assists about 500 children and adolescents with cancer every year, regardless of religion, race or gender – kids and from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Rachashei Lev’s primary services are medical, social and psychological; the goals are to maintain the morale of the children, help them cope with the arduous challenges of the illness and alleviate their suffering.

Rachashei Lev was founded with a child-focused vision and a deep understanding of the needs that cancer patients and their families have. These are children and families have had their worlds turned upside down, and their daily routines have transformed into activities that center on a fight for life. The organization’s core mission is to help these children and their loved ones as they cope with their difficult situation – advising, counseling and supporting them mentally, physically and financially, and empowering them with strength and hope on the road to recovery.

Rachashei Lev has adopted the pediatric oncology departments at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, which, as centers of excellence, treat children with the most complex and challenging cancer cases in Israel. The nonprofit has a permanent presence in these units, delivering a broad range of daily activities and special events to assist the children. Rachashei Lev’s comprehensive professional team collaborates with the elite Israeli National Service squad and dedicated volunteers, providing guidance and personal support from the moment the child is diagnosed and throughout the stages of treatment. The emergency hotline and active staff members work 24/7 to support hospitalized children.

We believe that when professional clinical services and state-of-the-art medical care are consolidated with Rachashei Lev’s complementary support services, it is possible to rebuild in patients and facilities that which cancer destroys.

Together with you and thanks to your support, we will compete in this real and symbolic race to give children the strength to beat the cancer!
