The center's founder, Rabbi Asher Melamed, served for 25 years as an officer and rabbi in the Israel Police and is deeply familiar with the fieldwork and sensitivity that accompanies the treatment of sexual assaults in general, and their recurrence within communities in particular. Out of a sense of mission, he enlisted to develop from the ranks of the police, a method that helps instill readiness in the public with different cultures whose social code prevents the authorities from treating the victims of sexual assault. This method managed to reach and instill awareness in the ultra-Orthodox public and today the association promotes identical processes in other close-knit communities in the State of Israel.
