Tiferet, a single mother to three daughters ages 7, 6, and 20 months, became physically disabled after a serious car accident.
Because of her disability, Tiferet needs a full-time, live-in caretaker who can assist her with daily physical activities of being a mother or else her children will be forcibly removed by the welfare ministry.
She is an extremely dedicated and loving mother to her kids. She is kind, sweet, loving, and always trying to give a helping hand to those around her.

In her youth, Tiferet studied acting and dancing in Los Angeles.  The movement was part of Tiferet’s daily routine, until a serious accident in which a bus collided with her car from behind. Tiferet was left suffering from serious back and neck injuries, as well as undergoing hip surgery. Unfortunately, the physical trauma of the accident activated and exacerbated her congenital Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, leaving her with severe chronic pain and motor issues. The Israeli government officially recognizes Tiferet as disabled, but the stipend she receives is not enough to cover her monthly expenses.

Because of her physical disability, Tiferet needs a full-time, live-in caretaker who can assist her with the daily physical activities of being a mother. She needs someone who can stand up and prepare food, bend down and pick up the kids, can accompany them to and from school - all tasks that Tiferet’s disability prevents her from doing. 
This live-in help costs 3650 USD a month(12500ILS) including her salary, pension, and insurance that she is obliged to pay by law. 

Tiferet has long opposed the idea of asking for help, but she no longer has any other choice. Turning to the community is the only way she will be able to keep her kids with her. She has taken out multiple loans to cover her modest monthly expenses but will run out of money to continue employing her helper this October. 

Tiferet has previously reached out to the Welfare Authorities for help with her situation, Then she was informed that disabled parents who receive a stipend are not entitled to help from Welfare, and if she continues to alert them of her situation, the only action they can take is finding someone else to raise the girls.
This nightmare became her reality, Tiferet lost her live-in help because she could not continue to pay her and the children were taken away from their mother, shattering their worlds and causing intense, anguish, and distress to both Tiferet and her girls.

After taking out loans, Tiferet was able to hire another caretaker and win back her kids - but the girls are still suffering from the trauma of the separation, and the girls even to this day sleep in the same room as their mother, out of the terror of being taken from their mother.
The worst part as a mother is that she can not promise her 3 girls that it never will happen again. She is living month-to-month and struggling to scrape together enough money for rent in an apartment that is handicapped accessible, utilities, food, and her live-in help.
I am a close friend of Tiferet. We met when our babies were born 12 hours apart in the same hospital. She has been a light in my life, a source of joy and kindness, and she is such a loving, dedicated mother. I can’t imagine her family being torn apart, and I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t step in to help.
I strongly believe that Am Yisrael has a duty to come together and ensure that this mother and her children can stay together. We have the power to ensure their stability and happiness, and to take away the fears that they won’t be able to make it to the end of the month.
