The ongoing civil war in Sudan caused millions to flee their homes and become refugees. Some crossed the border to Israel to request shelter and where initially welcomed there. Families built homes, children learned Hebrew and went to school.

But in 2012, the Israeli government decided to deport them back to war torn South Sudan.
Families and children found themselves in one of the poorest countries in the world, struggling to find food, water and shelter. School wasn’t even an option.
 
A group of Israeli friends decided that they must help. They found a boarding school in Uganda that was willing to take the children and started, little by little, to locate the refugee children and bring them to the school.
The organization, “Come True” now takes care of over 150 children, ages 6 and up.
Each child is sponsored by one or more sponsors.
 
Buomkuoth and Sandra lived with their parents in Arad, Israel. After the deportation they tried to survive in South Sudan. During one of the fights that broke in the area they lost contact with the father and to this day do not know what happened to him.
The mother decided to run away to Kenya. The family stayed in a refugee camp for a little while but they realized that it is not safe either and moved again to Uganda.
Through Israeli friends, they learned about the “Come True” project and requested to join.
Sandra and Boumkouth have been attending the Triniti boarding school since September 2016.
Through their Israeli friends we learned about their need and have been working to sponsor them at the school. We are now working to raise the money for their second year in school.
